I don't agree ! it takes me sometime years to understand Initials like
IDE , SATA etc....
Initials have been introduced by technocrats and aren't a natural way of going
around with a language especially a very rich language like arabic.
What is wrong with that ! these are technical words after all, and I
think و.م.م for CPU is far better than وحدة معالجة مركزية, also ص.ب
for صندوق بريدي is widely used.

do we really need to introduce new words in arabic ?
Of courser we need, and if we didn't Arabic will be dead more and more
and no one will use it in day to day talking any more.
and if the user doesn't have time to read 10-20 pages before hiting the just
meaning ?
This may be true in the first days, after that every one will know the
new abbreviation and use it.

accepted in the spoken arabic ( 3aamiet ) but no serious arabic writer or
newspaper uses it
This is not true, it is used every where in newspapers and formal
talks in TV, radio and so.
what is the problem with this translation IP=مراسم الإنترنت
؟؟؟؟
The problem is too clear, you are translating a two letters word by a
phrase of 13 letters which is not good idea, and this is why no one
will use it.
well make your own experience ! ask in your circle of friends and people
around you if they really know what IP means (or any other Initials IDE,
SATA, HD, RAM SDRAM etc...) !
Can't get your point !, if no one knows the meaning of English
abbreviations we shouldn't use it as it is not a good practice or what
?
