Hrmmm, odd. Well, we really need someone that knows what they are doing
with regard to fonts (ie. someone that is well beyond the click to see
what happens phase). So the same application (say 'gedit') works with
Tahoma but not with kacst and/or one of the ae_* fonts ?

The problem here (in the future do please make sure its mentioned and/or
included in the post - I had to go to the archives to hunt it down) in
brief is that Harakat characters in between combined characters aren't
being processed correctly and are furthermore adversely affecting the
combining.

For example, LAM + FATHA + ALEF should produce the LAA + FATHA (the
fatha should be on the LAM part) but no combing in some instances is
happening.

What needs to happen now is to narrow down the problem to either the
application(s) and/or the fonts. Munzir, take one application at a
time and compare say Tahoma vs. our fonts and let us know what you
find out please.

I'd also highly recommend taking this thread to the 'developer' list
(Behdad/Roozbeh, might have some insight into this issue).

Salam.
