Re: The Arabic Abbreviation Dictionary

<snip>

Me too .. I'm not in the mood to write a معلقة about how good abbreviating in ar but I had to post something :P

#1 to have ar abbreviations to complete the Arabization of the stuff we translate.. #2 the fact that many languages are slowly converting into en doesn't mean we should do just like them and what you are saying about using the en ones and not to arabize/translate them...its like saying "why bother, just forget about ar and speak en"... #3 until now..mixing en and ar texts together aren't working as it should...may be that will be fixed someday..but the question is why don't we make our own lingo and wipe the Latin characters out? even the transliteration is better than leaving the Latin characters intact... #4 why not make languages in other languages than en? the only problem I see in making that is maintennce .. there are so many en users and that gaurantees that specific language will be maintained most of the time..its not like that en is super or something..

Abbreviating in ar is doable in my opinion..as said..its matter of using something for sometime until you get used to it...isn't it that if you do something for 15 days it will become a custom?

And yes to answer your question about using it..yes I will use it..it will be difficult in the start but it will be easier with the time...i usually use يبع instead of lol :P

We were talking about the possibility to use the zero width non joiner.. it is annoying to enter but it is cool..i used it here http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8:%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%AF%D9%85_%D8%A8%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%AF_%D8%AC%D9%88%D8%AC%D9%84 and it looks nice...

Translation is good, giving up is bad.
