Wrong, Gnome has 35532 translated strings and KDE has 55078 (Arabeyes stats).
However, the 35532 concentrate on the most important Gnome components which
are about 90% translated and the 55078 translated strings are spread
everywhere in the huge number of KDE programs
(http://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/trunk/ar/index.php).
