Good people,
At the bottom of this message, the reply I got from Peer regarding
his effort to make a bigger German wordlist. Files that he
sent are with me (no need to flood the list). If you ask me, a German->Arabic
wordlist is a value add provided that I don't have to learn German
and do it.
Regards,
-----------
I have compilend another list (the other one was very small, wasn't
it?). This time it is the list of words of a german translation of the
Qur'an.
I join two files:
- The wordlist: all german words of the file, sorted alphabetically
(ignore the numbers).
- In order to help the translator, I also compiled a complete
concordance. The other zip archive contains a preview so that you can
see what it is and decide if it might help. I can send you the complete
concordance, but it is a zip file with 6.7 MB, so I didn't send it right
away. If you want to have it and if somebody can take it via email
(which blows it up further due to coding), I can send it to somebody. If
it is too big for the mail, I can put it on some web site to download it
via HTTP.
Let me hear what you think. Do you like this concordance thing?
Don't be afraid not to have enough to do -- I can send you much more stuff.
I'm in the process of writing a set of python programs for compiling
these lists and handling terminology.
For instance, the program I used here takes just about any text file and
produces a list of the words, a list of the sentences (which I didn't
send, it's not that useful) and these concordance files.
(Hy Ahmad, remember my first posts? It took me some time to get into the
programming and all these coding issues, but in the meantime I made much
progress and now it works quite fine already.)
Best Regards
Peer
