Salam Mr. Isam,
To start, I would like to commend all those who are working on Arabeyes projects. They are really doing an excellent job. Thank you all.
As for me, I had tried several times to be active, but repeated computer problems always kept me from doing so. I (almost) repaired my computer (CPU fan problem: processor getting too hot), but, I still have a problem configuring X (no driver for my old monitor) and I could not yet make my computer speak Arabic under Linux. I am waiting for version 9 of Mandrake that should be released soon.
However, to be honest with you, what really makes it hard for me to be active is that I am now going through a very critical stage in my career, so the time left for me does not allow me to focus enough in order to do something reliable and significant.
Nontheless, I will do my best to compile a sort of to do and not to do Arabic guidelines. I already took permission from the person who prepared them (Mr. Sayed Hussein, ex- senior reviser at the UN and ex- Arabic teacher), and I will send them to you as soon as I can. These should help us make less Arabic mistakes in our translations. Our friend, Mohammed Elzubeir had also poposed that I prepare a sort of translation guidelines. I am now (slowly) gathering information and I hope to be able to work on such a project soon.
I know that all I have been doing so far was criticizing without proposing solutions and working alone without the requested (especially technical) knowledge or coordination. So, all I did went to the trash. I will correct that as soon as possible.
Salam,
Yasser
