To you who live in the Arabic-speaking world who are more knowledgeable
about what Arabic language learning resources that exist: Is anyone aware
of an online dictionary Arabic/English/Arabic or other western languages?
Considering the sad state of printed dictionaries, one would wish for a
modest start where everyone can add a few words at their fancy with the
proper translation. Note that printed English to Arabic dictionaries are
intended for Arabic speakers. There is an enormous need to help beginners by
giving broken plurals, verbal nouns etc.
There was a Dutch professor who showed that saving the time of manual lookup
in a book (especially if the dictionary is in root order and you are a
beginner) speeds up language learning enormously, that is if you just type
in the word or expression. Note also that learners from many western
countries have to translate twice, since a decent Arabic dict. to their
language many not exist. This could also be eliminated with an app.
