I am also working on a web-application (PHP based) that looks like launchpad.

 

Pootle is not a very accepted solution, since it is very slow and store all the data in Pootle server.

 

I already finished most of the behavioral and architectural design of my application, and managed it so that it allows mutual exchange between a PO database and MySQL database from one side, and later from PO database to a CVS or SVN repository (the translators changes affected the MySQL, which later synchronises itself with the PO database, while new terms are sent from the latter to the former in order to be translated).

Why don't we unify our efforts?

a python module to translate any text (done)
the rest of the web application is not yet implemented
it's something like PO wiki
It seeds POT to google except fuzzy and special formated files (taged
with comma)
starting from shortest to longest and let user edit it and confirm it
..etc.
it allow several users to edit the same PO by making each one edit
different 50 msg
(only locks 50 msg)
