Re: Quran data and issues in encoding the Quran in unicode

Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah.

What is the name of the source and location (web site?)
that you got the Quran text from? If you have no idea,
check surat al-nour (sura #24) aya 7 and 8. If you spot
an error there, then keep in mind that this source--the
text file--has a few errors and a lot of inconsistencies.

I posted a message to USENET some time ago regarding this
source after nobody (web sites using that source) cared to
correct the errors it had. See:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/soc.religion.islam/msg/9dc4294fc5bb157c?dmode=source&hl=en

If that's the same source you are using, I had a list of more
than 176 errors and inconsistencies, but I forgot it in my hotel
room while traveling. I remember most of them, though. :) Insha-Allah
once you verify if you have the error in surat al-nour I'll try to
juice my memory with you. Else, if you don't have the error,
you are probably using another source that I have no idea
of.

Wishing you and your family peace and good health.

Salam,
Abdalla Alothman
