Re: compiled version of libqte.2.3.6 instead of 2.3.10 ??

Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi

Thanks you for your quick answer.

Ahh you find this good URL where many things about the Qtopia implementation on the PMA are described
http://www.kevinboone.com/myfirstqtopiaapp1.html

I actually already download the SDK for Qtopia 1.6 and write some applications.
I also think that the  best solution at this time is to directly include the bidi algo in my application as you said.
Indeed my application is very basic it consist of some combobox, listbox and search facilities.
It allow me to make some search in Tapes Database.
For the database I use shsql it is an embedded database that feet my needs, but it it not very fast my db is 5MB (25000 entries)
some queries need 40s !!!

So if you know some good embedded database .. inform me

I will wait that archos release its SDK, because the version of QT that archos has is limited with many read-only path  ... :(

So I will try it.

Thanks

Thinking a bit more...

the OE development environment that I am using is based on gcc 3.4.3 - so I
don't think the binaries that it produces will work with the rest of the
Archos environment. (i.e., I can't compile a working Qt for you).

The simplest thing that you can do is to include minibidi.c in the application
you are writing, and to install some arabic fonts. You won't need to modify
Qt then.

Other than that, if Qt has to be modified then I can't actually do that here
as I have no way of testing the end result. You will need to download the
appropriate toolchain as detailed here:

http://www.kevinboone.com/myfirstqtopiaapp1.html

and you can then download the qt-2.3.6 source from the Trolltech web site and
try and compile it so that it works on the Archos (this may be difficult, I
don't know). Once you have achieved that then I can help you patch the code
so that it supports displaying arabic.
