السلام عليكم
Here is another proposal, an alternative to Husseini's proposal. Because,
anyway, no one defined what OAO should be. In order of priority:
1. Articles
* News: OSS and computer arabization related news. (Summaries linking to
Arabic IT bloggers, Arabic IT magazines, original news including local
activities...)
* Articles featuring: Introductions to new computer technologies, new OSS,
reviews of programs and distributions, presentation of OSS projects and
movements, ... a central place of all what a OSS enthusiast needs to know, in
Arabic.
2. Forums
* OSS general discussions, help and support
3. Tutorials: Summarize frequently raised issues in forums when experimenting
with OSS.
4. Software: A packages portal, where people can know more about OSS features,
characteristics, screenshots, ... all in Arabic. Links to Debian packages and
source balls. Guides to know how to install software in different
distributions.
5. Art: Selected free artwork from English usual art sources. Arabic-related
artwork.
In a nutshell, my view of OAO is that it should all what Arabic speakers miss
to enter the OSS community, at the communicational level.
