Re: Numerical Inimitability of the Quran (was "Volunteers, Unicode, previous examples and things")

Salaamun Alaykum Abdalla,

300 solar (gregorian) years is equal to rougly 309 lunar (hijri) years. There are more very interesting discoveries about this statement.

Have you been able to check the initial letter counts made by Rashad Khalifa in suras which begin with letters? I was able to verify some of them and the ones that I verified were correct. These include 19 Surat Al-Maryam with K.H.Y.`A.S. initial letters, 20 Surat TaHa with T.H. initial letters, Sura 26, 27, 28, 36, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 50... In regards to suras that have alif as one of the initial letters it is kind of confusing at this point what the correct count really is. It is evident that Rashad Khalifa made some errors in the alef counts as noted by Submission.org (http://www.submission.org/miracle/alif.html and http://www.submission.org/miracle/alif2.html). That is one subject that I would like to further research.

>838292*9 = 7544628, 7+5+4+4+6+2+8 = 36, 3 + 6 = 9

Wow this is very interesting. I didn't know 9 had this property. This seems like a good divisibility by 9 test also.

Those are the last two ayas of sura 9 (128 and 129). I don't believe that these ayas were removed by Rashad Khalifa just because they didn't fit numerical recipes. There is more historical discussion from the Hadith in regards to this topic (various hadiths attributed to Ali and others).

>As Allah says in Surat Maryam: Wa yazeedu Allaha allatheena ihtadaw huda...
>(And Allah increases the guidance of those who accepted the Guidance...).

Also it is interesting that aya 74:30-31 mentions..

74:30
'alayhaa tisa'ata 'ashar
74:31
wa maa ja'alnaa asbaaha n-nari illa malaaikata wa maa ja'alnaa 'iddatahum illa fitna lilladhiina kafaruu liyastayqina alladhiina uutu l-kitaab wa yazdaada alladhiina aamanoo iimaana wa laa yartaaba alladhiina uutu l-kitaaba wa l-mu'minuuna...

74:30 (Khalifa's translation)
Over it is nineteen.
74:31
We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers..

74:30 (Yusuf Ali's translation)
Over it are Nineteen.
74:31
And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers..

74:30 (Pickthal's translation)
Above it are nineteen.
74:31
We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt..

74:30 (Shakir's translation)
Over it are nineteen.
74:31
And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt..

The above verses hint to that numerical inimitability by way of number 19 will increase the faith of the believers and remove doubts from hearts that Quran is the divine word of God. What do you think about these verses?

>Wishing you and your family peace and good health.

Thank you. I wish you the same as well.

Salaam,
Mete
