I think knoppix is not a good choice if you want to
use arabic, because in fact knoppix is only something
like "a copy of an installation " in which arabic is
not enabled.
A better way , is to use for example Fedora core 2,
because , ( gnome 2.6 ) the arabic is completely
supported ( check at the installation an additional
fonts any arabic country ).
thenfore you can use arabic in abiword for example.
