Re: Cairo Univ Linux User Group

Great note Ahmad... But we already made contacts with linux-egypt to unit efforts. We will begin our real presence in the festival.

as you can see our group try to take benefits of founding inside a univ. where you can see Prof's and contact with them... also where you can make courses and distribute easier than any place.

Do you have any ideas?!!

From: Ahmad Tarek <ahmadtarek at link dot net>
As a step to spread Linux usage between college students and spread the idea of open source. We declare a new Linux User Group in Cairo University (cuLUG).

Its goals will be mainly:
1.Spread Linux as a cheap replacement to Windows (by providing books and distribution).
2.Be a base for spreading OpenSource concepts and Resources.
3.Arrange and Plan for courses and seminars.

shouldnt it be better to _Unite_ the efforts ?
my point is, shouldnt it be better for the cairo university Linux Users to
just join Linux-Egypt.com ? instead of spreading around several small
groups, one BIG group should be more effective :))

they already have a website/forum/users.

you can learn from them and they can learn from you, they have been
advertising linux for some time now.
they already have a Linux Install Fest coming up on saturday, try to be
there.. :))

just a thought :))

i appologize if this post is out of 'general' scope :))
