Hello
I'm French, living in Syria and saw some of you in the Open Source
workshop in Syria last month.
I'm working on PHP application and try to convince people to use arabic
(what the use of making web site that nobody will be able to read).
I've two main fields :
- Web application - mainly PHP and MySQL right now.
I'm working currently with SPIP - French CMS who has a full arabic
interface and utf-8 and multilanguage support (www.spip.net in fact
there's more articles translated in arabic than in english )
My second project in the field is with PMB a French library management
software. I'm working on adding utf-8 support in order to be able to
register and search books in french, english, arabic, russian, greek,
syriac,... without using transliteration which reminds me a bit of the
time of colonialism.
- System administration
I'm working with several ISP in Lebanon and Syria, with Sendmail, bind,
scripting, installing patches,...
Unfortunatly, my arabic is not so good as to be able to help for
translation.
the other problem is that, living in Syria there's some things I cannot
do (CVS is one of them). But If I can help for making web site in arabic
(if you write the content), give information about the last patches of
products, scripting,...
So hoping to be able to help.
Regards
Armelle Nedelec
