yes, that's because xmms is a gtk 1.x not gtk 2.x application. for it to work, we'll have to modify gtk source for the shaping and BIDI
it seeme that no one there @ xmms.org is interested in porting, i was able to compile it against gtk 2 and posted on their forum but NO one offered help in porting, so i just... purjed my work ;)
