Re: Arabic Firefox 2 Status

Ayman, I downloaded and tested the test build. It's not too bad, but
it certainly needs lots of improvements. Especially the way it should
render access keys and some minor string changes. I'll compile a list
of bugs that need to be fixed, I have a shortlist that needs further
testing and background reading. Speaking of that, any old discussions
about arabic FF issues?

It's a step in the right direction, thank you for your dedication.

Also, Can we embark on building the firefox arabic website?

Salam everyone,

After many late string changes, Firefox 2 was finally frozen for beta
2, I did some work to translate new strings and remove old ones last
night, today I downloaded a test build and things are shaping up well,
you may download testing builds here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/tinderbox/latest-mozilla1.8-l10n/
(Look for files with .2.0b2.ar. in their name)

Please download and test, deadline for beta 2 changes is next friday,
so we have around two days, of course we will also be able to fix bugs
after the release of beta 2.

By the way, please don't post links to above builds anywhere else,
these are testing builds and are likely to become broken any time,
once beta 2 is out, we can announce it to the general public.

Regarding Thunderbird, I suggest we focus our efforts on Firefox right
now, it's near possible to make it for Tb 2 (and 1.5 po's sat in
Arabeyes CVS for several months and no one bothered to touch them) So
it can wait until we release Firefox then prepare for the next version
of Thunderbird, 2.0 is hopefully the last version of Arabic Firefox
that isn't accompanied by Thunderbird :)

One last thing, who's interested in an Arabic site for Firefox?
Currently we only have one page translated into Arabic (Firefox
Central), but now we have a chance to translate the whole Mozilla.com
site into Arabic, so is anyone interested?

Regards.
