I think there is a BIG misunderstanding. I thought you wrote a script to
remove any msgstr where is msgid=msgstr. Now, you are proposing to not touch
pre-existing msgstr. Why is the script then needed?!!

This is what I call arabeyes damn(?) لعنة عربايز;)
I found gsitranslator. It needs java, swt and maybe eclipse. I waited till I
am on work to download an rpm from my club commercial packages for java. The
links to rpms for java didn't work. I surfed to Sun's site to download Java
and compile it from source but found it not working these days. I searched my
local drive to an old java rpm. I found one and after some playing with
configuration files and CLASSPATH, I couldn't solve the Exception in thread
"main" java.lang... and the story continue... Because of time constrains I
left this track.
Again into sgi -> po method. after a discussion on irc with Pavel Janik the
l10n co-lead, he mentioned that msgfmt will not work and we do not need it at
all. I discussed with him the possiblitly of working with original old .po
and he mentioned it's ok and we would do the merge lator and that no strings
are removed between 1.1.x releases and hence our work won't be lost. I will
continue working with the .po files for now.
He also mentioned that the deadline to update GSI files in CVS for 1.1.3 is
July, 28th. If any one wants to help to meet the deadline it would be nice.

I was about to work with the original format not to convert it to .po and then
work on them. Now, that proves problematic with this java stuff I would
return back to the .po and pray to God that anmar was wrong regarding his
warning not to work with the .po files ;)
