[19 Mar 2004] Translate.org.za in collaboration with Jason Githeko have
produced the first Kiswahili spellchecker. The team was able to marry the
development skills of Dwayne Bailey from the Translate project with the word
list built by Githeko. In less than a day the first version was produced.
This collaboration was made possible by the Africa Source Free and Opensource
developers meeting.
Tectonic article
Download and follow these installation instructions (note that kiswahili is
not a registered language in OpenOffice.oreg, you will have to choose another
language and country such as it_IT - Italian Italy - to be able to work with
the dictionary).
