Whatever i did i couldn't let gedit see the fonts, don't know why "using garnome w/ gnome 2.2"
however

$ fc-list  | grep Kacst
KacstArt:style=KacstArt
KacstBook:style=KacstBook
KacstDecorative:style=KacstDecorative
KacstDigital:style=KacstDigital
KacstPoster:style=KacstPoster
KacstTitleL:style=KacstTitleL
KacstTitle:style=KacstTitle

perhaps there is a style problem ? thus preventing gedit from catching them here?
