I would highly suggest you not delete anything (by hand or otherwise).
How about if we add a setting in mysql to note whether a person is
alive or not (or dead or not :-)  We're not hurting for space and there
is no need to delete people per se (we simply need to remove them from
active state and release their username into the general pool).  If a
user say after 3 months decides to come back (has time), we should
re-active his account by searching on the first/lastnames (as his
username would have been gone).  What matters here is the CVS write
ability (that needs to be yanked).
