you'll have to restart the xfs
/etc/init.d/xft restart "mdk 8.2"
or better to restart X 
you should find the iso****-6 in both fonts.dir and fonts.scale

from which version of windows did you get those fonts ?

alaa was able to solve it when he changed the font to adobe-helvatica
but i didn't try it
