Problem with IRC & Arabic

Salam,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this
question. Please tell me if it isn't.

I managed to install a Linux destribution om my PC
(Peanut Linux). Arabic is finally working ok with KDE
3 too, except for one small thing.

The problem is that the KDE IRC client spmehow doesn't
recognize arabic characters that I type. On the
command line, as I type, the characters appear as
arabic characters. The moment I hit ENTER, these
characters change to something different. So if I want
to join a channel whose name is arabic, the server
would come back saying it couldn't parse ... or
something like that..
Is there any solution to this ?
