The word 'barn' is translated as follows:
msgstr "الشّونة"
But what I found in Al-Mawrid is:
(1) الهُريْ: مخزن الحبوب
(2) حظيرة للماشية
(3) مبنى لإيواء العربات

You could also add :
"noun: (atomic or nuclear physics) a unit of nuclear cross section; the effective circular area that one particle presents to another as a target for an encounter" An excerpt from onelook.com :-))
1 barn = 10^-24 cm2, See also: http://www.bartleby.com/65/ba/barn.html

I am (personally) with having multiple definitions for one word. Since these files (Full_Wordlist*) are supposed to serve firstly for Qamoose and open source dictionaries (please correct me Nadim if i'm wrong ;-)). Using them for rough translation is a plus, but we simply can't limit the a translation for only one word just to rough-translate !
After a rough translation, the translator can keep the good word only and remove the other definitions (the rough translation process needs a check by a 'human translator' anyway...). Another possibilty is to use only KDE and GNOME translated PO files for rough translation.

For "weird words" I am for not removing them as a first step, but to only mark them as fuzzy. A second check will be needed to remove them.

Salam,

Youcef.
