Re: Possible cooperation with officials

Yow,
As far as I understand, he coordinates a few workgroups in computer science at
the university level, one of which is the arabization of free software. In other
words, I believe we can at least get some useful 'volunteers' doing arabizing
work as part of their univeristy curriculum under Arabeyes' umbrella, like the
ones working on openoffice arabization. He is interested in coordinating his
efforts with other Arab organizations. I will ask him for more details indeed,
sending him a summary of the view_partners file for a start. I will also try to
meet him personally in Tunisia to see if we can get anything interesting from the
authorities (if it can give them some positive PR we are most likely to get some
significant official help).
I didn't bother forwarding the email because it was written in French. If you
still think it's useful, I will forward it, just tell me.
A not directly related point, I just read the views_partner file for the first
time since the first version as you pointed it out. I think the tone is not
diplomatic/marketing enough. I will try to rewrite some of it in a more
PR-friendly form without changing the content if you guys don't mind it.
Any last comment before I contact the guy?
Salaam,
Chahine
