'core' is no where close to elitist or in an 'ivory tower', we conduct
all our meetings in the open and invite anyone to join-in and listen
(a few had done that in the past). All our minutes and agendas are
online in CVS and we welcome any and all criticism especially those that
relate to improving the process and Arabeyes (given they don't focus
on personal issues and stick to substantive topics).

A few things to note while on the topic of the charter and 'core'.
1. We've talked about annual elections to elect 'core' members but
have not yet drawn-up the text or instituted the policy - we should
have that done soon'ish.
2. In the charter, I would much rather replace items 7c, 7d and 8 with
an odd number of people to constitute 'core'. This would be much
easier to comprehend and much easier to deal with (its all-around
simpler and doesn't require any more effort from any one person and
fosters and sense of equality). If OK'ed, 'core' will have to grow
to 5 people.
Salam.
