Mohamed,
how does one submit if one doesn't attend the workshop ?
I also suggest to propose the extention to the ISO-8859-06 standard, in
order to integrate Arabic letters that are not part of MSA, such as gaf,
peh and veh, and the other ones from Farsi, Urdu and other
Arabic-derived languages. This way Arabic-based encoding would be
unified the same way ISO-8859-1 unifies Western European encodings,
which would be benfecial in many joint l18n or i18n efforts.
To be included, considering the introduction of French accented letters
in ISO-8859-06, at least do a survey on the importance of these in the
Maghreb (imagine an ISO-8859-06 without English characters for Egypt or
the Gulf). It would be even more interesting if the encodings are
already compatible between the existing codesets.
Salam,
