I've added a new section on the GNOME 2.8 status pages: "proposed". It
should show up as soon as the translation status pages update.
This section will contain most new modules that so far have been
proposed for inclusion in GNOME 2.8, so as to make it easier for
translators to see which ones they are, what the translation status is
for them, and to make it easy to start translating them. Currently the
proposed section contains:
evolution
evolution-data-server
evolution-exchange
evolution-webcal
gal
gnome-nettool
gtkhtml
Please note though that these modules have only been *proposed* for
inclusion. There is currently a module proposal period where new
software modules for GNOME 2.8 can be proposed by their authors (see the
time schedule on http://www.gnome.org/start/2.7/).
This means that these proposed modules are *not* officially included in
GNOME 2.8 yet. Some of them may be, and some of them may be not. We
don't know until the module decisions are final. I'm stressing this
point as you should know that translation work spent on these modules
*may* not be used for GNOME 2.8. On the other hand, there is a
potentially large chance that they will be, and the earlier you start
translating these modules, the better your chances probably are to have
a 100% supported translation the day GNOME 2.8 is finally released.
In other words: What you should translate if you want to maximize your
chances of having a 100% complete translation the day GNOME 2.8 is
finally released is at the moment the "developer-libs", "desktop" and
"proposed" sections of the translation status pages.
Some more things to notice: The proposals period has just started. More
proposals are likely to come, and some may be withdrawn. Thus, the
proposed section is likely to change further.
Also, the proposals section is only a temporary measure. As soon as the
proposals period is over and the module decisions are done, the modules
that will be included will be moved to the desktop and developer-libs
sections respectively, while the ones that will not be included will be
moved back to the other sections (like "extras") where they were before.
Also, as most authors and developers of the proposed modules are not
subscribed to this list, *please* direct all non-translation-related
comments about these modules to the proper place, either
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ (if these comments are in fact bug reports)
or the desktop-devel-list at gnome dot org
(http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list) if they're
just comments on the merits and drawbacks of having these modules
included or not.
Christian
