Re: All eagerness to get to it

Hello Abdulaziz:

Looks like the proxy your are behind does not support pserver.

There are two ways you can get the files from arabeyes.org cvs.

1. use the cvsweb tar ball. You can find it at the root of the GNOME project at the bottom of the screen. You can find it here:

http://cvs.arabeyes.org/viewcvs/translate/gnome/gnome.tar.gz?tarball=1

2. You can use the script called CVSgrab. the details of the script are at:

http://cvsgrab.sourceforge.net/

Hope this helps.

Arabic support is very good and many important apps like Evolution,
gimp, abiword, gnumeric use the gnome platform!

If you are interested, contact me I'll help you throught cvs.

Well since gnome is my window manager of choice I'd be happy to start on that project. I have a small problem at the moment. I can't log on to CVS with the anoncvs account yet and so cannot build a repository. It's not a CVS problem but a proxy problem. In fact I can't get any programs that require internet access to work except for opera, which has its own proxy settings. I know what proxy and which proxy port I need to use, I just don't know how to set them as environment variables on my machine. Maybe someone with more Unix experience can help me with this.

In the mean time, I'm browsing the CVS logs and the CVS files available to take a look at some of you gentlemen's work to try and get an idea what standards you prefer to use. If there is any particular file you would like me to get started on right away, tell me about it and I will download the file and work on it, while waiting for a response from someone about my proxy problem.

Thanks,
Abdulaziz
