I have been talking lately with Isam (on irc) and I told him that I was 
ready to contribute to the translation effort. I hope I will be able to 
give, say, 2 hours a week in this effort, starting from the next weekend 
insha Allah (Sat,Sun ;)).

My idea is to call for help from arabeyes developers, maybe some guys will 
be able to find half an hour a week to translate some strings. It should not 
become a distraction from their developement work, and their real life work 
too. Maybe (I hope) one or two persons will respond positively.

I am not sure if the idea of retributing translators, by giving them 
"prizes", is a good idea (actually, I don't much like it). My feeling about 
all this, is that it should stay a voulenteer work...

About sharing the tasks, Isam told me that a lot of work needs to be done in 
'kdebase' and 'kdelibs' (as you said it too). So I can start with these. I 
think it would be helpful to make QUICKLY a survey of people who _really_ 
want to work on the translation and share the tasks in the coming days, so 
everyone would have a precise goal and maybe this would generate more 
enthousiasm and removes the boring side of the work (not having really an 
objective, randomly translate some files, etc). Also, there must be more 
interaction between translators, and maybe a regular meeting to talk about 
the situation ? (I'm not sure about the latest point).

Anyway, I like KDE 3.1 screenshots, it would be perfect if we could have a 
_complete_ arabic interface, and I think that the most important point is 
sharing the tasks and naming who will translate what.

With all my respect to those who worked on the translation so far, and are 
still working :)
