Salaamaat -
I've just joined the list and I'd love to contribute to the project.
As a translator and a *NIX administrator (Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris and
AIX), I've been waiting for full Arabic support to come to at least one
GUI on Linux so I could stop using Arabic versions of Microsoft
products. I've observed in other projects that the best way to see this
happen is to dig in and help somehow. The problem is, as noted above and
below, I'm an Arabic to English translator. English is my native
language and translating into Arabic is definitely not my strong suite.
So, as a starting point, I'd be happy to help anyone here who wants to
post a question but is afraid to do so in English. Just send me
(tgregory at tarjema dot com) your queries in Arabic and I'll translate them
for the list (and translate the reply into Arabic for the person asking,
if they need it).
If anyone can think of another way I can contribute, please let me know.
