Re: Yudit text editor

Hello,
I've tested yudit sometime ago and I can tell you it doesn't support
arabic very well because of the algorithm used which is not compatible
with the Unicode one. It add two CHARS when you switch to RTL:
U+202E RIGHT-TO-LEFT OVERRIDE and U+202C POP DIRECTIONAL FORMATTING

I personally use acon with the iso encoding then transform the file to utf-8 with iconv:
iconv --from-code=ISO_8859-6 --to-code=UTF-8 file.po -o fileutf-8.po

Regards.

Salam,

The Yudit (http://www.yudit.org/) Unicode text editor has come very close to having full Arabic support. This is great news for those wanting to use Linux
to edit and create documents in Arabic (eg. PO files).

There are still some very small quirks here and there, so your testing and
feedback would be appreciated -- and to your benefit I might add.

It's really easy to compile and install (grab the latest 2.5 beta).

This should make your life a lot easier for those of you not wanting to leave
your Linux environment to translate PO files ;)

Have fun.
