I have yet to get any response from Matthias, but I think we can get it to do
Arabic just fine if with the latest Qt (fresh out of the betas), and Sulaiman's
modified Arabic XKB keymap. I forwarded his message to me about Alkatib, and
although unrelated, Qt takes care of all that for KBabel.

I have been unable to get a successful compile straight out of the CVS, and
still not sure if they want me to put our files on africa asia (l10n files),
or in ara/ . I emailed Thomas for confirmation. But I already have a set of
files I pretty much ripped off of the German directories (as per Thomas'
suggestions) and changed them a bit.

We have two options. We can start by using Alkatib as a simple text editor,
and edit the .po files by hand. Or we can try to see if KBabel will work with
the latest Qt patches. I'm sure the guys at linux.org.sa are ready to give a
helping hand. Sulaiman has been most helpful to me so far.

I haven't heard anything from any of the people who have subscribed to the
list, and I was hoping to hear some opinions or testimonials about
alternatives.

What do you think?
