whoa, whoa, whoa - people, i believe there's a huge misunderstanding
here. i wasn't trying to start a flame war -

first of all, i didn't mean it as a means of distinguishing muslim
"sinners" from "non-sinners" -- nor as a way of distinguishing muslims
from non-muslims even.  i intended it to be exactly what it means -
"peace upon all those who follow the guidance" - in general, "guidance"
means the message of God.  you can be a christian and that statement
would apply to you or a jew or anyone else.  you may also think that
guidance is in something totally different and thus peace applies to you
too.  musa told his people this - look in the quran.

so to afief and other non-muslims here, i wouldn't say my statement was
racist.  as a matter of fact, quite the opposite.  if you understood
differently, that's your fault for judging my statement without knowing
my intention.  or maybe it is my fault for not guessing that it could
potentially be read this way.

and as to moayyad and other muslims here, i didn't do this to offend you
guys or to distinguish "good muslims" from "not good muslims" nor to
give you a greeting less than you are due - who am i to do any of that?
i said it with good intention, not meaning to offend anyone anywhere.

i apologize to all those who were offended and assure them that i didn't
intend to offend them.  and from now on, i will avoid sending email to
this list unless absolutely necessary to avoid offending people in the
future.
