firefox on mac osx leopard - tashkeel?

just wondering if anyone here is using leopard and if they ran into any
problems with firefox rendering arabic with tashkeel.  oddly enough, any
arabic with tashkeel is automagically converted into arabic without
tashkeel.

i can't say it's a problem with leopard because the same sites work fine
in safari.  i can't say it's a problem with firefox because the same
firefox version on my linux box works perfectly.  its not any extensions
either because i did disable all of those.

any ideas?
