Re: OpenOffice 2.0/ StarOffice 8.0

Nadim,

Thank you for being a voice of reason. I apologize to all publicly for over reacting. I joined to be helpful not to cause trouble.

I have been eye-ing CUPS as a project I can join, but seems like Duali is a more urgent tool to have. There's quite a bit more lexing and lookups involved in Duali that there seems to be in CUPS, which is closer to my heart.

Anyway, I will check out the sources and see where it is at and where I can help. Mr Rahal's (since he liked that ;) invitation is very tempting.

Thanks again,
Ammar;

I don't really understand how we are thiking.
We have an incomplete Arabic spell checker, No one
volunteered to help. No one is welling to take over the project.

To circumvent the needless rants and flames, why not double-up on Duali and get it into a usable state targeting OOo. Once that is complete we should look into getting it integrated into aspell. If license is an issue with duali I see no problem us switching it over to (L)GPL as had been noted a rather long time ago.

In the not too distant past I had suggested we gang-up on one
project to get our collective juices flowing, I'm extending
that idea to not only include arabbix (Mr. Rahal are you ready
for that just yet ??) but to also consider Duali (our spell-
checker) [1]. I'm not sure what state Duali is in, but that shouldn't be too
difficult to ascertain plus we do have some
access to its original author what we'll need is some linguistic
assistance to make sure we've covered all the bases and that the
approach is proper, etc and some help from the OOo's team for
integration (but something tells me that shouldn't be an issue
at all).

Thoughts ?
