keyboard settings!!!

salamz......i want to modify arabic keyboard symbol file in order to include 
urdu unicode characters in it ...urdu has got all the alphabets of arabic + 
plus some extra unicode characters like tcheh,peh etc which i want to 
include....i have tried modifying the arabic symbol file located in 
KNOPPIX/etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/ar via remastering and replaced the alisas 
arabic_theh by arabic_peh but it still typed the orginal arabic_theh when 
the specified key was pressed .....i dont know where are these aliases 
defined and i just put arabic_peh by guess......i will be highly grateful 
for ur help thankz...arian
