Shadi, I don't think there is a stand-alone "shaping" (or joining)
library out there. I know that fribidi (fribidi.sf.net) will at
some point (soon I hope :-) do that along with Bidi which will be
great. A number of implementation abound though (Pango, vim, etc)
which you can peer into. We also have a some perl code that might
be of assistance,
