Could the authors of the XML structure (not the text)
give permission for me to change the XML structure of
the files? Basically I would like to change the name
of the "sura" elements to "chapter" and the name of
the "aya" elements to "verse" and also a few other

The author of the structure is Yousif (as far as I know). But it seems that he is currenty unreachable.

Also, what are the copyright terms for the usage of
the Quran translation texts? Are they public domain? I
bet that some of them aren't public domain so would I
need to get permission from the translators if I
wanted to use the text on a website?

I have asked some Muslim lawyer friends for help on this issue. But I haven't heard any progress from them.
