Khotot (fonts)

anyone know how to install fonts ? I know how put I have a problem :(

I installed Microsoft Fonts and ae_fonts fonts (Khotot) and I can use
them in KDE (e.g. Kwrite)

but the problem I can't see them in Mozilla,GIMP  or  OpenOffice !!!

and when I try xlsfonts I can't see them

The installation was like this :

1. I created ~/.fonts/
2. I tar zjf ae_fonts1_ttf_1.0.tar.bz2 and ae_fonts_mono.tar.bz2
4. I run fs-cache -v and I got :
....
fc-cache: succeeded


any help please ? (BTW I can see KSU fonts in Mozilla,GIMP and OpenOffice
because they came with Mandrake)
