you have to add a line that defines the font for the iso10646-1 .. after 
adding it you have to do a 'xset fp rehash' to reread the fonts directories 
.. 
please make sure that only the fonts that have the iso8859-6 defined have the 
ability to work for Arabic .. and those fonts NEED to be defined for 
iso10646-1 to function properly for Arabic in KDE and GNOME ..
