I've found a book named "English Resource Book for Industrial Schools by Ahmad Sh. Al Khatib" , it may be useful... this is the entry for profile

profile(n.) قطاع جانبى(أو طولى) ، جانبيّة
profiling(n.) تشكيلُ الٌجانبية
profilometer مقياس وعورة سطح الطريق
profile turning(Eng.) خراطة الجانبية

Personally, I don't have a clear view on it yet ... I don't know...
