Well it may be missleading.. as there was Open Source projects and efforts for 
Arabic long before Arabeyes started .. such as KSA LUG and the univ. projects 
of the King Abdulazziz IT City.. and the Acon was there long before 
Arabeyes.. and so on .. but one thing is for sure, is that Arabeyes was built 
to last, and it was more Arab-centric, and it is a volunteer project..
Alot to said commenting on a title, I know :-)
