I happily broke FreeBSD 4.5 compatibility in return for FreeBSD 4.7.
If I don't find some other solution for this, I will include a "hard"
solution for FreeBSD 4.5 users (who should upgrade anyways). I also.
fixed some bad nested ifdef(s) in the code.
