Arabic language chalenges in F/oss

Dear friends,

I am planning to run an e-consultation starting later this week and spans over a period of two weeks. This process aims to identify the challenges that face the Arabic language in the Free and Open Source Software world.

If you are interested in participating in this consultation, please reply to this e-mail and we will be glad to include you in our discussions.

Please note that the aim of this consultation is to identify the issues and challenges facing the use of Arabic in Free and Open Source Software. The outcome of this consultation should hopefully be a prioritised list of issues and challenges. We shall not aim to propose any solutions or approaches to solve the issues at this stage.

أود إعلامكم عن نيتي بإجراء جولة إستشارية إلكترونية تبدأ في بحر هذا الأسبوع وتستمر لمدة أسبوعين غايتها تحديد التحديات التي تواجه استخدام اللغة العربية في مجال البرمجيات الحرة ومفتوحة المصدر.

ارجو منكم في حال رغبتكم بالمشاركة في هذه الجولة الرد على هذه الرسالة وسيسعدنا تواجدكم معنا في حواراتنا ونقاشاتنا.

أود أيضاً أن ألفت انتباهكم إلى أن هذه الجولة تهدف حصراً إلى تحديد التحديات والعقبات التي تواجه استخدام اللغة العربية في البرمجيات الحرة ومفتوحة المصدر، ونأمل أن نحصل بنتيجتها على قائمة بأهم هذه التحديات والعقبات. لن نحاول في هذه المرحلة اقتراح أية حلول أو أفكار لتجاوز هذه العقبات.
