This needs a more thorough discussion. Mohammed isn't the one who stopped it,
this was actually the result of a vote
(http://lists.arabeyes.org/archives/doc/2004/June/msg00291.html). So I would
expect that we need a discussion to overturn this.
Before we start the discussion, though, we need to know what has happened
there. In short, the translation was completed and a new young community is
growing there. As I am (marginally) participating there, I wouldn't give
details but rather refer you to the mailing list
https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-trans-ar . At least so you
can give a more educated opinion about the work there.
If you ask me about my opinion, I would rather have the work under the Arabeyes
roof (I still do, yes)..

I am actualy very much interested in Ubuntu. My grudges against Debian are
almost all solved there (updated system every 6 months, up to date security
patches, etc). Admittedly, my grudges against Fedora are also getting less and
less as they use more and more of the default gnome and kde systems, so I am
not sure if I will switch. Novell NLD? Suse, maybe, but a 'buy it, try it free'
product? Unlikely..

Enjoy linuxing, Arafat, for the whole Arab world benefits from your enjoyment:)

Salam,
Muhammad Alkarouri
