Hello all:You can freely use arts located in http://www.sadeem.net/tux.html, it is all under GPL ;). I hereby give you all the permission to use it.
Arabbix (Arabic Friendly live CD) is moving along quite nicely. I should have an late alpha released int he next 3 days.
There are some things I need help in :
1) Graphics (artwork such as Themes, wallpaper, icons ... etc) Arabbix is based on GNOME 2.2 using Metacity window manager and nautilus file manager. If you do not have design skills, please do recommend some places or images.
2) We need some Arabic_help files. I will have a draft (in english) of the files that we need to bundle with Arabbix 1.0. so if you feel up to it, please let me know and I will put you on my list of translators.
3) Need some PR help. We hope to distribute Arabbix for free at Gitex (biggest computer show in dubai) so if you live there, please let us know as you might be needed to distribute the CDs
4) Need Logo for Arabbix. Please email me all your logos (anmar at canada dot com) and I will post them on a site and ask people to vote
5) Need a CD-Design. Since we want these CDs to be printed professionally, we are interested in a nice clean (arabic) design. Let me know, I will post all of the design and we will vote on the best one.
Thanks all.
Anmar

Thanks very much, but I did not design these things myself, my cousin Bandar did all that great stuff, he is a Mac guru ;).

Well Arabbix is a live Linux CD. What does that mean? you can play with all the nice stuff with linux without installing it on your hard drive. Simply place the Arabbix CD in your CD/DVD player on your computer and reboot the machine.. the machine should boot of the CD and you will have a funky complete Linux OS with all the bells and whistles.
Yousef, the design has to use one color only since printing full colour on the CDs is very expensive and we are gonna be practically giving them away. The design has to have Arabbix 1.0 written on it in English and Arabic. I alos want to have www.arabeyes.org on the CD. I know this does not leave much space to work with but it is the best i have.
if we can use some mosaic or arabesque.. that would be cool... just keep it modern , simple and attractive which I am sure Bandar will be able to do.
Of course contributors will be names in the credits of Arabbix1.0
I would really have to ask my cousin if he can get up with something for you.
Bandar: Can you help us out in this matter please?
Sincerely,
Yousef Raffa
I can't promis you anything now because it really depends on Bandar and his free time, although I would love to, but I can try to get another friend who usually enjoys designing CD labels. I will try to contact him as well.
Sincerely,
