That just says all on-going conversations should remain on the
mailing-list and not be taken off the list to revert to private
emails.  The reason for this is simple really.  We want all those
interested and involved (ie. those on the mailing-list) to be
aware of what is happening and what decisions are being made and
why.  Plus when you have lots of people reading posts, lots more
ideas tend to surface given people are willing to at least reply.
As an example, if you have a conversation with 2 people you are
likely to get 2 opinions back (or ideas), but if you are talking
to 50 people you are much more likely to get MORE than 2 opinions
back and that tends to make for a better sharing of thoughts.  I'm
an avid believer of "best idea wins", and so the more brains and
eyes look at things, the better off we all are.
