The kernel VFS layer strings (messages) have not been translated to
any language as far I can tell. Those are supposed to go into kernel
logs and should not be visible to end users. Actually, I don't think
that the kernel has any provisions for mutilingual support in the
sources.

The part that might require some work is the applications where
user-visible strings are: ls, mv, cp, etc. Typically, those are in
coreutils, util-linux, nfs-utils, samba-client and the like.
