retitle 253984 Please create a debian-l10n-arabic mailing list
thanks
(this is about a request to create a mailing list dedicated to Arabic
localization on Debian mailing list servers. People who want to
support it, please do so by sending a mail to
253984 at bugs dot debian dot org dot dot dot dot only if you are *really* interested in
it...:-)))

After some more thinking, I propose changing the request I originally
made, for a debian-i18n-bidi list to debian-l10n-arabic.
Indeed, the need is first for a mailing list dedicated to Arabic
localization. There is an emerging interest for it, with people from
Arabeyes working on this translation for Debian Installer, with an
early work on the web site translation and so on.
Package: lists.debian.org
Severity: wishlist
This is a request for the creation of the debian-l10n-arabic mailing list.
Name: debian-l10n-arabic
Rationale:
Arabic localization of free software is becoming now quite common and
several efforts are currently made to have Arabic localization in Debian.
Improvements in text libraries have for instance made possible to
have the Debian Installer translated into right-to-left languages, and
especially Arabic.
Having a mailing list dedicated to the support of this language will help
translators and developers for working on these issues.
